Vancouver-based JusTea Beverages Inc. a for-profit social enterprise known for it’s unique Purple Tea, has been honored for its innovation in the creation of Kenya’s Purple Tea.

Vancouver-based JusTea Beverages Inc. a for-profit social enterprise known for it’s unique Purple Tea, has been honored for its innovation in the creation of Kenya’s Purple Tea.  Paul Bain, CEO of JusTea, announced today, that JusTea has been voted the Gold medal winner of Product of the Year in the province of BC Canada at the annual gala of the BC Food Processors Association. The hallmark award, Product of the Year, included 26 nominees representing an amazing assortment of unique BC products. JusTea was selected as the Gold Medal recipient on taste, appearance, originality, natural health benefits, and innovative packaging.

In partnership with Boaz Katah, of Nandi Hills Kenya, JusTea has demonstrated how we can create partnerships for sustainable jobs in Africa. Jobs can go a long way to break the global poverty cycle in rural communities, and JusTea’s partnership with the Katah family in Western Kenya have helped hundreds of families get jobs. Mothers with stable employment can now pay the fees for their children to go to school.  Now the kids can eat nutritious meals three times a day.

“We feel very privileged to receive this distinguished award and are absolutely thrilled to be recognized in Canada for our Purple Tea,” says company CEO Paul Bain. “It is such an honour to accept this award on behalf of our team in Vancouver, Canada, and our team in Nandi Hills, Kenya.
