Not Sure Which Tea To Try First?

What Makes Our Teas Organic

The tea-growing regions of Kenya from which our teas are sourced have distinct natural advantages that make for your quality enjoyment as well as a natural ability to keep operations as organic as possible.

Our farming partners grow tea at high elevations between 5,000 and 7,000 feet above sea level, where the climate and soil conditions are ideal. The volcanic soil in these regions is exceptionally nutrient-rich, the result of ancient volcanic activity that created mineral-dense earth.

The Kenyan climate also provides consistent temperatures year-round, allowing tea to grow continuously without dramatic seasonal fluctuations or need for synthetic interventions.

Plus, unlike other tea-growing regions that spray their tea leaves with pesticides, JusTea farmers use natural farming methods, including composting, animal manure and hand-weeding. Some may also apply basic NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium) fertilizer twice per year.

But because there are no indigenous tea pests in Kenya's farming regions, there is no need for pesticide use on the tea plants.
