Canadian Maple Recipes

Classic Maple Iced Tea

Ingredients

  • 5 tsp of Canadian Maple tea leaves
  • 2 tbsp of maple syrup (add more or less to customize sweetness - can also substitute with honey for a maple-honey iced tea)
  • 4 cups of water
  • Lemon
  • Ice

Method

  1. steep the Canadian Maple tea with an infuser in boiling water for 3 minutes in a heat safe container / teapot
  2. once steeped; remove tea leaves, add the maple syrup, and stir
  3. put in the fridge and let sit over night (for quick method pour directly over ice)
  4. serve with ice and lemon

Maple Mint Iced Tea

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mixed berries (can substitute with any soft fruit)
  • 1 cup fresh mint
  • 6 tsp of Canadian Maple tea leaves
  • 2 tbsp of maple syrup for added sweetness (skip if you prefer less sweet)
  • 4 cups of water (boiling), 4 cups of water (cold)
  • Lemon or lime wedges/wheels, optional, for serving
  • Ice

Method 1 - Cold Brew Method

  1. add berries, mint, and maple syrup to container
  2. pour in room temp / cold water and stir
  3. fill a tea infuser with Canadian Maple tea and add to container
  4. put in fridge overnight
  5. pour over ice, and serve with fresh mint and lemon slices

Method 2

  1. steep the Canadian Maple tea with an infuser in boiling water for 4 minutes in a heat safe container / teapot
  2. add the maple syrup and stir
  3. let the tea cool down a bit and transfer to a pitcher
  4. add 4 cups of cold water
  5. add berries and mint
  6. put in the fridge and let sit over night
  7. pour over ice, and serve with fresh mint and lemon slices

Dirty Canadian Maple Chai Latte (Hot or Iced)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk (Sub non-dairy alternatives)
  • 4 tsp Canadian Maple tea
  • 1 tsp chai spice blend. You can make your own (see below for how to make it) or you can use a store-bought version.
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 shots of espresso
  • 1 oz vanilla syrup (optional)
  • Whipped cream
  • Ice

Chai Spice Blend

Mix together:

  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp ground allspice
  • ½ tsp cardamom
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • ⅛ tsp black pepper

Method

  1. boil the milk for 1-2 minutes in a medium saucepan 
  2. add the tea leaves and boil for another minute
  3. remove from heat and let steep for 5 minutes
  4. once steeped, strain the steeped milk into a heat safe container
  5. add the maple syrup and chai spice blend
  6. stir until dissolved
  7. for iced latte: let cool to room temp and add ice to a glass
  8. in a mug (or glass of ice) add the steeped milk tea and vanilla syrup
  9. pour in the espresso
  10. top off with whipped cream and a sprinkle of chai spice blend
  11. stir and serve

Maple Cinnamon Tea (Hot or Iced)

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 whole nutmeg
  • 4 tsp Canadian Maple tea

Method

  1. pour water into a small saucepan 
  2. add the cinnamon sticks, maple syrup, and nutmeg.
  3. bring to a boil on high heat stirring often.
  4. once boiling, remove from heat add the tea leaves and steep for 3-4 minutes.
  5. strain the steeped tea into a heat safe pitcher
  6. serve!
  7. for iced: place in the fridge for several hours, or overnight and serve over ice.
